Matt Giuca, MD, is a physician and academic anesthesiologist serving as chief of anesthesiology at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center and as VISN 2 lead anesthesiology consultant for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. In the latter role, Dr. Matt Giuca provides both clinical and administrative oversight while guiding anesthesiology leadership across VA facilities throughout New York and New Jersey.

Throughout his career, Dr. Matt Giuca has maintained a dedication to medical education. He has received multiple teaching honors, including the Outstanding Educator Award and several Excellence in Teaching Awards from Stony Brook University School of Medicine.

In 2021, Dr. Giuca was appointed chief of anesthesiology at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Northport, New York. In this position, he oversees perioperative services, ensures adherence to high clinical standards, and manages departmental operations.

In addition to his clinical and administrative work, he has contributed to scholarly research and academic publications. His work includes research on preoperative frailty assessment and historical perspectives in anesthesiology, with peer-reviewed publications indexed in major medical databases.
